GeoDEV Africa is the African subsidiary of GeoDEV International, based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. As a regional hub, it serves governments and public institutions across the continent that are building or scaling their national space and geospatial programs. Its core mission is to provide both initial and continuous training in geospatial professions for government delegates and technical teams responsible for space, mapping, land administration, environment, infrastructure, and security. Through structured learning paths, executive seminars, and hands‑on technical workshops, GeoDEV Africa helps countries move from basic awareness to operational mastery of geospatial technologies. The center’s programs cover the full value chain: from satellite data acquisition and remote sensing, to GIS analysis, data governance, and the integration of geospatial intelligence into public policy and national strategies. Training is designed to be directly applicable to real government projects, enabling participants to return to their ministries with concrete methods, tools, and implementation roadmaps. By strengthening institutional capacity, GeoDEV Africa supports the design and implementation of national space and geospatial strategies, encourages regional cooperation, and equips public decision‑makers with the skills needed for evidence‑based, data‑driven governance across Africa.
